In this blog, we will learn WooCommerce and Stripe integration for online payment processing.
Stripe is an American software used for online payment processing which enable your customers to pay you online from their bank’s account via credit card or debit card transaction. WooCommerce and Stripe Integration:
To integrate WooCommerce and Stripe, follow the below steps;
The first step is to create stripe account it is completely free process. To create stripe account, go to https://stripe.com/ and click on Sign in option.
On the sign in page scroll down and click on Sign Up option to create your stripe account.
On the register or Sign-up page enter your email, full name and password. Then click on Create Account option.
Now you will be directed to your stripe account dashboard. Click on the Get Your Test API keys option.
Retrieve both the publishable key and secret key. They will be used to integrate WooCommerce and Stripe.
In step 2, you need to install and activate WooCommerce Stripe plugin. To install the WooCommerce Stripe plugin, from your WordPress Dashboard, go to the Plugins option and click on the Add New option.
Now in the keywords bar, enter the plugin name and then click on Install option to install the plugin.
After installation is done, Activate option will appear. Click the Activate button to activate the WooCommerce Stripe plugin.
Step 3 is about configuring the plugin. There are two ways to configure the WooCommerce Stripe plugin:
- From plugins page
- From the Payments option in under WooCommerce
We will configure the plugin from the Plugin page. Search for the WooCommerce Stripe plugin among the installed plugins and click on setting option.
This will take you to the Payment option. check the enable option to enable stripe.
Now scroll down and enable the test mode. Then paste the Publishable key and the Secret key. Also generate the Webhook key from the Stripe account dashboard.
Now define other settings and then click on Save Changes.
Now it is time to test the plugin. To do so, navigate to your store and put few product to your cart and then proceed to checkout.
On the checkout page you will see the credit card option along with a message that test mode is enabled. A demo Credit card number will also be provided.
Now complete the billing details using the given credit card number to pay for your order. Once the order is placed, a receipt is generated.
Now to switch to live mode, navigate to Plugins>>WooCommerce Stripe Plugin Settings>>Payments>> uncheck the enable test mode box.
And enter live publishable key and secret key. And then click on Save Changes.
